This is the last for the news in 2000.

Trigger is selling Martial Arts products. He has two videos on defending from the 'Guard'. The first is called "Cornholed with Broomsticks" and the other is "Backdoor Boys". Currently he is working on a training aid that will accompany the videos. Its rumored to be a full 12 inches and tested by Ginger.

A new Martial Arts Site has been born!!! MixedMartialArt.com has taken the NHB world by storm. Their message board, -The Thunderground" is booming with Martial Art related posts. Look at some of the comments:

The Historic Grapple Forum has been shut down. Today is a sad day for the troll world. No longer will we see 'fat chicks with dicks'. The Grapple forum will best be remembered as the battle ground for the Shaun Thingvold versus Juan Mott.

Gary Goodridge talks about his fight with Shaun on Eyada
This is straight from Eddie Goldman's "No Holds Barred" program on Eyada. The interview took place on September 1, 2000.

Eddie Goldman: Another e-mail from Rob (I am assuming Rob Craven), it says that in December of 1999 Gary was reported as having fought a guy named Shaun (Thingvold) in Vancover-Vancouver. It was a draw. Could Gary comment on the fight.
Gary Goodridge: ah - that was a fight I guess I was never at. I never heard about that.
Editor's Note: Gary quickly changes the subject to his fight with Paul Herreria.

Don Frye wants a piece of Ken Shamrock. Frye was at Pride 10 and had words with Ken Shamrock. Frye wants to return to NHB and he wants Shamrock. Lets wait and see.

Pride 10 Results

Ken Shamock shows us that he is nothing more than hype as he loses to Fujita. Many thought that Ken as ahead when he suddenly collapsed and grabbed his heart.

Sakuraba again shows that he is the best fighter in the world as he breaks Renzo's elbow to become the first man to beat three Gracies in a row in NHB. Congrats to Sakuraba and our best wishes to Renzo.

Apparently the legend of the internet fought again. It has been close to two years since he fought in Gladiators 1, but the Legend pummeled Justin Aikins into submission in a little over a minute. If anyone else has news on this event please e-mail us.
Note: The event appeared on MAA.com's events board, but when an inquiry was posted asking for the results on the Underground it was deleted.

Interview with Shaun A. Thingvold
I was able to catch up with Shaun via e-mail for a few brief words about his return to Mixed Martial Arts. Shaun will be fighting in the Langley Free Open on August 19, 2000.

Faygot Shaun why the return to fighting?
Shaun I wasn't happy with how my last fight went. The fight was over two years ago, but it’s still fresh in my mind. Quite a few people at Shimauo's didn't believe me or think that I was a real fighter. Basically, I'm doing it to shut up my critics.

FaygotI remember the whole thing. Gladiators 1 in Kamloops, right?
ShaunThat’s right. Rob Craven promoted the event and when the results were posted on The New Full Contact people started e-mailing Cal Cooper that the event was fake. The next thing I know the whole article was pulled and people were calling me a liar.

Faygot What have you heard about your opponent, Justin Aikins?
Shaun Rob (Craven) tells me that he's a pretty guy. A fan favorite as he plays hockey somewhere up there. That doesn't mean anything to me. I grew up fighting on the streets. Anyone is tough with pads on!

Faygot A hockey player?
Shaun Yeah! (laughing) You believe that? I guess the guy has been doing martial arts for awhile and wants to test himself. I can't wait to lay the smack down on this guy.

Faygot Okay. On to different things. Did you see that Matt Abbott posted his pic?
Shaun I saw it. I can't believe this is the guy that wanted to fight me all this time. I'll kill that guy. I hope if we ever fight he has workman's comp through the Dole Pineapple factory (laughing).

Faygot Why don’t you post on line anymore?
Shaun There are a number of reasons. First, I really don’t have the time anymore. Next, people were impping me everywhere. After the Juan Mott thing I basically said forget it. I mean half of the things that were said to him weren’t by me. All I said was that I thought I could beat him. The next thing I know he is accusing me of calling him a N-word and everything. It was unreal. After that I didn’t want to post anymore. Its not worth it.

Faygot Some people don’t think you are real. What do you have to say about that?
Shaun That’s what impping will do. If anyone doesn’t think I’m real then have them show up in Langley on August 19 and they can see me.

Faygot Shaun, thanks for the time. Can we get more info as the fight gets closer?
Shaun No problem and I'll defiantly tell the fans whats going on as the fight gets closer.

At the 'Awakening' on July 1, 2000, Peggy Brooks defeated Unique Leigh again. Unique is best known for her fantasy wrestling and shaking her ass. Congrats Peggy!

Some old forum buddies have retuned. The inventor of the word 'faygot', B.A. Dass himself has returned to Shimauo's Chat and Thingvold's Fighting Forum. Also, Trigger, Canada's answer to the Gimp has returned. For those of you that haven't heard, Trigger was away at a Nudest Colony discovering his inner (literally) sexuality.

Ferguson Follies II?
Apparently, Duane Linville (Oxnard Doc) and Robert Ferguson are at it again. The good Doctor went to Robert's studio again with video camera and $1000 in hand. Robert, who's NHB record is 1-1, was just about to teach his famous Ferg Bo class. The Doc said he would return at 8:00. When the time came the Doctor showed and Fergy said, "Dude, your camera is not welcome! How many times I have to say it?" Apparently, a few times as he told Doc to bring the camera. Does anyone else think Fergy is 'black' in the terms of Bryant Gumbel, Carlton (from the Fresh Prince), and Hootie? Doc, whose NHB record is 0-0 but 2-0 in making Fergy look silly left disappointed as the 'Elite One' didn't want to "Get It On!!!"

It seems that Chuck Liddell is the lastest to have words with the Internet Legend, Shaun Thingvold. Shaun claimed he was tired of challenging Chuck Liddell and Chuck responds. "I have no idea who you are but before you get tired you might want to actually talk to me or e-mail me at Chuck@slokickboxing.com and maybe actually challenge me." (Taken from the Grapple Forum). Visit Chuck's website at SLO Kickingboxing and drop him a line. The site looks pretty kick ass and has a great little bio on Chuck himself.

A picture of the infamous Hashimoto has been uncovered. For those that did not know Hash was a regular poster on Shimauo's Japanese Site, but started posting on the American Page before it was taken down. What brought Hash to the American Page was a post by Shaun Thingvold asking if he still was number one in Japan. Hash would ask funny questions about English like, "What is faygot and faggot? I can not find them in my Japanese-English Dictionary." Here is his picture.

We were able to reach Gary Goodridge for a few questions.
Interviewer: Do you still arm wrestle?
Gary: You won't see me arm wrestling again soon . Not enough $$$$$$.

Interviewer: I have heard that you are one of the strongest men to ever step into the Octagon - what do you bench press?
Gary: The most I have ever bench presed was 585lbs.

Interviewer: Lastly, I have heard of this Shaun Thingvold. People say that he is one of the toughest fighters around in Vancouver. Is it true that you and him went at it?
Gary: I never heard of Shaun Thingvold. If I did I would have kicked his ass. Tell him that for me. Also to stop using my name to make himself sound bigger than what he really is.

and the site is run by Jinxer so you should have a little more freedom on the site then others. Of course you won't have the same amount of freedom as you do here.

The infamous Matt Abbott has finally posted a pic of himself on the internet. Matt Abbott has been ducking Shaun Thingvold for years. He currently is employed at the Dole Pineapple Factory in Hawaii.

Here is some news we heard from Rob Craven about Shaun Thingvold. If those of you don't know Rob acts as Shaun's promoter. It looks like Shaun was asked to fight in some events sponsored by Brad Farley, the same person who is the president of the WCSSW. According to Rob, they would not pay Shaun to fight in the event, but they desperately wanted to get their 'hands on him' for a match. If those of you who don't know the WCSSW is a Women's Submission Organization. Check them out at WCSSW.com. Those girls will put a severe beating on you.
