Welcome to Beston's No Holds Barred! The page was originally known as Thingvold's No Holds Barred. It was started years ago by Shogun of Harlem as a joke in dedication of the Internet's greatest 'Trash Talker', Shaun Andrew Thingvold, then years later the site was rededicated to Australian MMA legend Luke Beston. I want to make it clear that the only affiliation Shaun has with this page is when he sends us an e-mail or posts on the forum. If you are looking for him then leave a message for him on the 'Message Board'. Other than that we can not help you in any attempt to get a hold of him.

The news provided here is a little different. There are tons of news sources on the internet and if you don't know where to go then check out our links page. What we attempt to bring here is stuff that is not found at other places, but what we think might be interesting for Martial Art fans (and a little funny). Thanks for supporting us!

Here is a 'No Holds Barred' Biography of the legend, Shaun Andrew Thingvold. Read how this man became the greatest legend on the internet. Click Here

Rafiel Torre murder trial update!

From http://www.dailybulletin.com/Stories/0,1413,203~21481~2986160,00.html

DA says man used martial arts move to kill lover's husband

By Rod Leveque
Staff Writer

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - A trained martial artist used an unbreakable chokehold to murder his lover's husband so he could be with the man's wife and live off her million-dollar life insurance payout, a prosecutor told jurors Thursday.

Rafiel Torre first offered a friend $10,000 to kill 32-year-old Bryan Richards, the prosecutor said during opening statements of Torre's murder trial in West Valley Superior Court. When that plan didn't pan out, Torre snuffed out Richards himself using a Brazilian Jujitsu move he learned as a professional cage fighter, the prosecutor said.

"It's one of the most simple and one of the most important tools for a martial artist," Deputy District Attorney Kent Williams told jurors.

Richards was found strangled and underneath sheets of plastic in the bed of his pickup truck Dec. 22, 2001. The truck was parked, unlocked, in a corner of the lot outside the Albertsons supermarket at Foothill Boulevard and Vineyard Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga.

Torre, 40, who is famous in the martial arts subculture as a fighter and journalist, has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

His attorney, Anthony Robusto, did not make an opening statement Thursday, reserving his speaking time for later in the trial.

Torre was not arrested until nearly two years after Richards' death, when another professional fighter called police with explosive details that broke open the case. That man, Gerald Strebendt, will take the witness stand in Torre's trial as a key prosecution witness, Williams told jurors Thursday.

Strebendt, a former Marine, is expected to testify that Torre offered him $10,000 to murder Richards in September 2001. Strebendt refused, Williams said.

"The thought of killing an innocent civilian was repulsive to him, as it would be to any of us," Williams said.
Strebendt met with Torre again several days after the killing, this time outside an Orange County strip club. There, Torre told Strebendt he killed Richards using a chokehold known as the "lion killer," but claimed it was self defense, Williams told jurors.
"He wanted Gerald to be his alibi," Williams said. "Gerald said, "No way, can't do it.'"

Strebendt came forward to detectives with the story more than a year later when, in a crisis of conscience, he feared Torre would escape justice, Williams said.

Other witnesses prosecutors plan to call during the trial include people who saw the affair between Torre and Richards' wife, Angelina, escalate before Richards' death.
Richards' siblings and parents will also testify. They grew suspicious of Torre and Angelina Richards soon after Richards disappeared.

Richards' brother, Keith, will testify that he saw a copy of his brother's life insurance policy on Angelina Richards' kitchen table within a few hours of Bryan's disappearance.

Williams told jurors that after Richards' death, Torre moved in with Angelina Richards. The woman either sold or trashed Richards' things, removed all but two of his photos from the house, and left his cremated ashes in a utility drawer in the garage, Williams said.

Angelina Richards has not been charged with any crimes.
Testimony in Torre's trial will begin Monday.

Jeff Monson's Ex-Girlfriend Provides More Details On Their Breakup

Monson and girlfriend, before the falling out

Posting on a European forum, Jeff Monson's ex-girlfriend gave more details on what she alleges happened to cause her relationship with the Abu Dhabi champion to end. Her story is one of romance, deceit, abuse and adultery.

"OK, questions answered.

Me and Jeff started dating in December last year. He flew me out to the USA on January 3rd to go live with him. He then cheated on me with his wife, whom he told me was over with her and they were getting divorced. So he moved me away from all my freinds family and job to live with me but cheat on me also. He then took me all over the USA and made me happy by throwing money at me all the time, guess that was his way of controling the guilt. I knew he lied to me alot because its amazing what you find out when you know his email passwords. He had been fucking around with his wife since day one but always managed to twist it and make me feel bad for questioning him, so I flew home and had him begging me to come back so I did.

We went to Hawaii and I found emails from his wife but just as I was about to read them he turned the computer off. So we argued and he then said "fine you can read them. I promise theres nothing bad in them" coinsedently the password had been changed and email deleted. We argued and I flew home. I sent him an email telling him it was to hard being with him so in order for me to be happy I was letting him go. He then emailed and called me asking me to stay with him and not to close my heart as he loved me and wanted me to forgive him. I got an fone call from my ex on Friday and we arranged to meet up as friends because we got on good that way.

When Jeff called me, I told him no lies about who I was with. He then got nasty and hung up. He called me the next day and I decided to tell him to fuck off and when I did he decided to tell me that he had been cheating on me with other women and I was his bit on the side as he never left his wife.

His wife knows about me and still stays with him. He then started to be nasty so I hung up. I guess he has never been told to fuck off before oh well I'm happier now without him at least I can do my own thing without having him be abusive for doing it."

Fight pic

I agree with Emmanuelle Steward on this fight so I'll let him explain it -

When asked if he thought the powerful jab of Jermain Taylor - not to mention the youth, hunger, strength and determination - would be severe trouble for undisputed Middleweight king Bernard Hopkins, Emanuel Steward quickly concurred.

"Yes, yep, yep, yeah, that's one of the fights that's a real, tough pick 'em and the slight edge I'm going with Jermain," said the Hall of Famer, before elaborating into a fascinating analysis. "I think that the one thing that all elder fighters have problems with when they get in their 30s is the jab - a young fighter with a fast left jab. Because the jab is the punch that is the shortest distance and you have very little time to see that because the reflexes are slowing. Guys who have jabs, they give all the fighters problems. And that's been just no exception. And I think that Jermain has a good jab, physically measures up to Bernard for one of the few times. And he also has a tough attitude. I mean, for all Bernard is, he's still like a bully, an intimidator, he's a bully-type guy. And Jermain - forget all that country baby boy talk - there's a look in Jermain - I know when I see too - and I think this will be - to me - the fight that will prove to me if Hopkins is as good as people who are listing him in the history books. I don't feel that way. I feel that he's a good middleweight that just happens to be along at the right time, when the middleweight division is the worst that it's ever been in history. And I think that's why he's been able to win all those fights. But when you look at the credible big names that he's ever beat - Trinidad, a welter/junior middleweight - Oscar de la hoya - a welterweight that brought himself up to middleweight - that's all. But he hasn't had to fight too much. Closest fight roughly he had was with Antwun Echols which was still no world class big fight. He's been very fortunate. His record puts him in a position in history that I don't think he's, you know, really that (inaudible on audio tape replay). You can't fault him because all he can do is beat what's up there. And he's beaten everybody that was up there. But unfortunately he hasn't been in any great fights, but he did all he can do. To me, Jermain Taylor will be the first fighter he fights that, to me, that he will be tested, where I think he will fall.. All the other fights, I don't give him much credit, believe it or not. This is the fight that I'm looking at who I will determine the way I feel how he would have held up. And I think Jermain Taylor - even though he's young - presents that challenge."

I'll take Larios over McCullough in the undercard. No matter what happens, no one will be dominated like the fighter in the picture below -

Robert "Fearless Goat" Mrotek's second seminar line-up is announced!

We'll have reporters dispatched to provide much more coverage of this in the coming weeks and months, but we have received the event schedule from the promoter.

For those of you planning on attending, please be advised that the event promoter did not deliver on what he promised for Seminar of Champions 1. He had built the entire seminar on the promise of Chris Brennan's attendance. Not only didn't Brennan appear, but it was later learned that Brennan had never been contacted for the event.

Those who are considering going to this seminar in order to learn from Barnone Guerra might be well-advised to hold off until much closer to the 17th of September.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Steven Quadros Skullfucks British Stripper

Sources in Europe (thanks adcombat.com) have confirmed that former PrideFC commentator Steven Quadros is telling friends about an encounter with a London area striptease performer, who has apparently given him the most satisfying blowjob of his life. "It was expensive but it was the first sex I've had in years and it was worth it," Quadros boasted. "I could marry this girl."

Quadros, in his mid-fifties, has been something of a vagabond since being dumped by Pride. He was in London to cover the Cage Rage card.

He is thought to have now paid for sex on at least five different continents.
