Welcome to Beston's No Holds Barred! The page was originally known as Thingvold's No Holds Barred. It was started years ago by Shogun of Harlem as a joke in dedication of the Internet's greatest 'Trash Talker', Shaun Andrew Thingvold, then years later the site was rededicated to Australian MMA legend Luke Beston. I want to make it clear that the only affiliation Shaun has with this page is when he sends us an e-mail or posts on the forum. If you are looking for him then leave a message for him on the 'Message Board'. Other than that we can not help you in any attempt to get a hold of him.

The news provided here is a little different. There are tons of news sources on the internet and if you don't know where to go then check out our links page. What we attempt to bring here is stuff that is not found at other places, but what we think might be interesting for Martial Art fans (and a little funny). Thanks for supporting us!

Here is a 'No Holds Barred' Biography of the legend, Shaun Andrew Thingvold. Read how this man became the greatest legend on the internet. Click Here

Forgot to pic Quartey over Phillips in a battle of older veterans.

Tarver-Johnson. I expect this to be a repeat of the first. It should be a close fight, with beauty being in the eye of the beholder in terms of who won or deserved to win. I thought Tarver should have got the decision in their first fight and I'll pick him here.

Jeff Monson Spoils 'Salute the Troops' Thread

A thread on the UG was recently created in order to give thanks to the troops, as sort of a symbolic morale booster.

Jeff Monson, who was recently a topic of conversation on this very board, refused to join the salute, opting instead to use the thread as an opportunity to air his views on the US government and the US armed forces.

the 9/11 commission report had forty plus pages blacked out which showed the US involvement with Saudi Arabia. the government tells its citizens what is wants to tell them. the fact is the US gave Iraq mustard gas and other chemical weapons during its 80's war with Iran and turned the other cheek as Sadaam killed thousands of civilian Kurds with our "gifts".

Multinational corporations run this country and maintain world capitalism with the US military and its military backing keeping the flow of money and oil to these corporations.

how does the government get people to die for these multinational corporations? by telling its citizens they are dying for a greater cause. in the name of country. when in fact they are treated no better than sheep being led to the slaugherhouse. left behind are children, husbands, wives, etc.

how crazy is it to shoot and kill another human because someone tells you to do it? these 'soldiers' are easy to train to do such horrific acts because they have no ability to think for themselves. they believe what they are told when years and years of facts affirm the US uses military force, sabotage, puppet dictators, etc. to enforce its own policies at the same time oppressing others. (see ghana, chad, afghanistan, iran, iraq, nicaragua, haiti, el salvador, etc.etc.etc.

saluting these sheep just reinforces the governments control over our lives. if these 'soldiers' picked up a book or did some thinking on their own instead of watching fox news and pumping iron maybe their perspective on the world might change. one can only hope.

More on the humiliating beatdown of Erin Toughill

I have received quite a few emails about the performance turned in by Erin Toughill in her boxing match against Laila Ali. The prevailing viewpoint of the emailers has been that Erin got what was coming to her and that she embarrassed herself beyond redemption.

In fairness, one opposing email came in. Here it is:

Hey your way off about the Ali Erin fight. It was a tie till ERin got hit with a big punch. Erin had the condition and technique to pull off the upset. Then what will you little bitch asses do? Stay in mommys basement and hate while Erin comes back better than ever. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

My response to that emailer is this: Nice try, Erin. You talked the talk and then got beat up. Your true character showed with the way you lost. You quit. When the going got a bit tough, you turned your back and quit.

You are marked for life as a chickenshit loser with a big mouth. I'm glad you were so vividly exposed. Thanks for writing.

Have any of you ever even seen me box? Just curious? And as for Ali giving me a beating - holy shit LOL

I guess if beating up a bunch of housewives and some old out of shape X champs means she's good - then I should be a superstar LOL And if anyone saw Almager you'll know what I mean. Mahfood was her toughest opponent to date. Very game - but not a good athlete.

This is a fight that will be happenning this year - believe me. Feel free to bet against me ;)

Erin Toughill punished in loss to Ali

MCI Center, Washington DC:

Unbeaten female Laila Ali completely outclassed and outboxed Erin Toughill, winning by third round TKO. The bout was stopped with Ali brutally punishing Toughill on the ropes. Rather than attempt to defend herself, Toughill shelled up and turned her back on her opponent, in a move that has been compared to an MMA tapout. The time of the stoppage was 1:59. Congratulations to Ali, who adds the WBC super middle belt to her collection.

It should be noted that many of the people on the UG who had predicted a Toughill victory quickly changed their tones after the bout. A general theme of mockery has replaced the hero worship that Toughill enjoyed going into the bout.

Laughing at the fallen, embarrassed Toughill, who had spent the better part of the last two years calling her out only to give such a poor accounting of herself, Ali stated, "There's no tapping out in boxing."

Here is an example of Toughill's bravado before the bout:

The fight w/ Ali will happen this year. That dumb bitch is on crack thinking she can't find me. She obviously knows who I am and that's where we start. And if you bet against me just make sure you bet big so you lose all your money :) I'll be fighting @ the end of March so stay tuned. People thought Roy Jones could not be beat. People thought Muhammed Ali could not be beat. People thought Tyson could not be beat. Ali is none of those. It'll be a very good, competitive fight w/ two good female fighters and I wil be winning :) :) :)

Toughill fights Ali tonight!

This is a reminder that MMA fighter and aspiring model Erin Toughill (pictured below) takes on Laila Ali in a boxing match tonight. MMA forums are buzzing over the bout. Most UGers believe that Toughill will emerge with an easy victory. Tune in tonight to find out.

I will go with Kid Diamond over Casamayor although Roberto Duran will be Casamayor's lead trainer and it may make Casamayor a better fighter. I look for Miguel Cotto to get revenge against the guy who beat him in The Olympics Muhammad Abdulaev.

In the Tyson fight the only question is how long it will last. I say it will end in the 1st and be another Pete McNeely type fight.

"My power is discombobulatingly devastating I could feel is muscle tissues collapse under my force. It's ludicrous these mortals even attempt to enter my realm."

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Jeff Monson Diagnosed with AIDS

In a world exclusive, LukeBeston.net finds itself burdened with the sad duty and journalistic responsibility to report that MMA fighter and submission grappling expert Jeff "The Snowman" Monson has been diagnosed with AIDS.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, ATT leader and Monson manager Carlao Santos confirmed what a medical source had told LukeBeston.net approximately ten days prior - that Monson, 34, had contracted AIDS at some point in the last few years, with his condition only recently reaching the point that it became noticeable to friends, colleagues, and sight-possessing bystanders.

"Once the doctor told me that Jeff had AIDS, everything started to make sense," Carlao told a LukeBeston.net reporter during a tearful phone interview. "Jeff had always been bald and unpleasantly pasty, but in the last couple of months it became worse and worse. People would stop us on the street and joke that he was a corpse I was animating with wires to try and make people believe he was still alive, like in Weekend at Bernie's," he explained. "Usually Jeff would have laughed at something that ridiculous, but lately he would go off on a rant about all sorts of crazy shit, real defensive like. He'd say that it was the government's fault that ignorant people existed and that things had to change. Afterwards he'd sit in a corner with a real sad look on his face. At first I thought it was just steroids making him stupid, but now I realize that he was lashing out because he thought they were mocking his AIDS."

Friends and training partners have been equally unsympathetic. As ATT member Dennis Hallman recalled in the presence of a Beston's writer, rumors about The Snowman's health began to negatively influence the environment within the team.

"Once people started saying that Jeff had AIDS, nobody wanted to roll with him anymore," Hallman admitted to self-styled Fightsport.com investigator, Ryan Lankford. "Nobody wanted to touch or even look at him, because some of the guys said that you could come down with AIDS that way," he continued. Hallman's feelings were echoed by many of Monson's so-called "teammates", many of whom (including ATT members Howard Davis, Marcus Aurelio and Hermes Franca) told LukeBeston.net staff that they would no longer associate with him under any circumstances. A notable exception was disgraced ATT founder and convicted drug dealer Marcus "Conan" Silveira, who told this website he would have contact with Monson only if he were to mastermind and execute a jailbreak on his behalf.

In a bizarre and cruel twist, the grim spectre of AIDS which had so easily destroyed Monson's personal relationships began to have the opposite effect on his competitive performance. According to Abu Dhabi Combat Club's Miguel Iturrate, Jeff's recent showings at various events including this year's "World Submission Wrestling Championship" in California were unusually interesting.

"Everyone knows that Jeff is really, really boring as a grappler," Iturrate stated, illustrating general contempt for Monson's points-reliant, sedate style by pretending to sleep on his desk. "But since the rumors started that he had AIDS, people actually started watching his matches. Maybe they were curious to see if he really did look and act like he had AIDS, but they started paying attention."

Even stranger than his newfound visibility was the fact that The Snowman's success in these events began to improve dramatically. Iturrate, however, was quick to point out that this was most likely not due to an increase in skill.

"The bottom line is that his opponents just didn't want to get AIDS," Miguel assured a Beston's writer. "Look at it this way: in the past, if Jeff Monson was laying on top of you waiting for the clock to expire so he could win the match on two takedown points, you might try to do something to reverse or submit him." Growing visibly agitated, Iturrate was forced to pause and calm himself long enough to continue. "These days, you've got a guy who everyone says has AIDS on top of you. You're too scared to do anything except keep your mouth shut and try not to look at him, because all the guys say you can get it just by staring too long."

Despite the concerns voiced by those who have faced him in the past and those who may be forced to do so in the future, Iturrate is quick to dismiss the idea that Monson's AIDS should stop him from being included in grappling events he runs.

"I'm out to make a profit," Iturrate boasted, twirling his handlebar mustache in a sinister fashion. "People want to see Jeff Monson because they know he has AIDS and something crazy might happen. After one match, the guy took his shorts off and walked around naked, forcing all the spectators to look at his dick and ballsack."

Miguel laughed and reclined in his chair as he visibly remembered the scene - and, no doubt, the profit it made him; "People were throwing up all over eachother, and the media seized onto it and gave us a ton of coverage. At our next event, we sold twice as many tickets. I get kids running up to me at every event, telling me that they want to see the freak who has AIDS." Grinning, Iturrate opened his wallet to show LukeBeston.net photographers the large amount of money spilling out of the cheap and tasteless light brown faux-leather interior.

"This is America, senor. In America, people want to see someone that they can hate for being different but who they fear at the same time, like your negro Wilt Chamberlain. Black people aren't frightening anymore, but AIDS is, and Jeff 'The Snowman' Monson has AIDS. As long as he has it, he's welcome at ADCC."

For a moment it may seem to the reader as if Miguel Iturrate is doing the right thing in allowing Monson to continue to make a living, no matter how selfish and profit-driven his motives for doing so might be. But only seconds after pledging his support, such as it was, Iturrate began to display the intense and ignorant anti-AIDS sentiments that Jeff finds himself battling each and every day.

"He's welcome at ADCC, but if he comes within a mile of my house I'm calling the fucking cops. I don't want AIDS, and I heard you can get it just by looking at him."

We here at LukeBeston.net wish Jeff Monson the very best in his struggle against both AIDS and the small-minded ignorance of MMA fans, fighters and promoters.

Editor's note: in the context of this article, the acronym "AIDS" means "Anarchist Inclinations to Destroy Society" and should not be confused with any alternate use of the same letters.

A concerned referee looks on as Jeff Monson, clearly displaying the telltale signs of a man with AIDS, outgrapples a terrified opponent.

Tszyu - Hatton
This is 2 aggresive fighters and one who has freaky power. Tszyu seems to be in his prime right now with boxing abilities to go along with punching power. Hatton fights in your face Joe Frazier like, but has beaten mostly nobodies in England. This is obsioulsy a major step up and he will be a God in England if he pulls it off.

I think Tszyu's power will be too much and that he will stop it in the mid to later rounds. I do think however, that Hutton has a shot. It all depends on how good his chin is. If he can survive the occasional bomb he's bound to get hit with, there's a chance he could win by decision. Personally I think this is going to be a very quality fight while it lasts. I think Hatton will be on him like a pit bull, so it should be non stop action.
