Welcome to Beston's No Holds Barred! The page was originally known as Thingvold's No Holds Barred. It was started years ago by Shogun of Harlem as a joke in dedication of the Internet's greatest 'Trash Talker', Shaun Andrew Thingvold, then years later the site was rededicated to Australian MMA legend Luke Beston. I want to make it clear that the only affiliation Shaun has with this page is when he sends us an e-mail or posts on the forum. If you are looking for him then leave a message for him on the 'Message Board'. Other than that we can not help you in any attempt to get a hold of him.

The news provided here is a little different. There are tons of news sources on the internet and if you don't know where to go then check out our links page. What we attempt to bring here is stuff that is not found at other places, but what we think might be interesting for Martial Art fans (and a little funny). Thanks for supporting us!

Here is a 'No Holds Barred' Biography of the legend, Shaun Andrew Thingvold. Read how this man became the greatest legend on the internet. Click Here

Scoop McTroll's Review of Tito's Appearance on BDSSP

Review by Scoop McTroll

POSTED BY OUR FRIENDS AT FIGHTSPORT.COM

Tito Ortiz, in happier times

Tito Ortiz made his most recent appearance on 'Best Damn Sports Show Period' to promote his upcoming fight against Vitor Belfort, but this time he seemed more uptight then ever, as basically got punked by the show hosts, Tom Arnold and John Salley.

Arnold made constant references to the 'gay porn' feel of the Zuffa-regime UFC and its 'Ultimate Fighter' reality show, to which Tito did not know how to respond.

Salley even told Tito, "You say you're gonna win... but you said that the last two times and you lost!". After Ortiz and tells him to purchase the PPV to see what happens, Salley replies with "Yeah, I bought a PPV... I didn't like it."

Tito also got visibly pissed off that they forgot about his win over Patrick Cote. He accused Salley of not paying attention, and basically made himself look like a jerk. Why should Salley pay attention to the career of a third rate chump after seeing him get destroyed in his last two big fights?

I can't believe they showed a clip from Dan Severn vs. Ken Shamrock! It's 2005 and they are using a clip from 1996 to hype interest in the latest show?

At first I thought Zuffa had bought air time on the show like they usually do, but then I noticed it was a promo for the UFC show on FoxSports. Screening it at midnight on a Sunday doesnt exactly seem like Fox care too much about it.

As for the gay porn references and lack of interest in the PPVs, I really don't see a problem with those statements. Tom Arnold and John Salley are only expressing what the rest of America thinks of the 'new' UFC.

New report: Gannon used dirty police tactics on Kimbo

Sean "The Cannon" Gannon (left) vs Kimbo Slice

A member of Kimbo Slice's new MMA training team has revealed that Boston police officer Sean Gannon used a vicious "dirty cop" move in his fight with Kimbo.

Kimbo said that gannon pressed his thumbs into kimbo's adams apple while applying the choke. Kimbo also stated that he went out from the choke.

We asked a veteran police officer if applying pressure to the adams apple during a choke is a standard restraining move used by police and he responded:

"No, we're taught at the academy to use non-lethal force to restrain suspects. Pressing your thumbs into someone's adams apple is what you'd do if you want to kill him. If I did that I'd get fired and lose my pension after Internal Affairs was done with me."

We at LukeBeston.NET feel that Gannon's dirty tactics are "bad for the sport," therefore we cannot support any professional MMA organization that signs him to fight.

Fight pic

Gatti should have an easy time with Leija. I think some fights are bascially over before they've started and this is one of them. Leija is a name fighter that can provide cannon fodder for Gatti to help set up his eventual match with Mayweather. Leija is a crafty veteran, but he is too old and too small to seriously threaten Gatti. Of course with Gatti being prone to cuts, a fluke could happen, but it's highly unlikely. Look for Gattti by stoppage in about the 4th round. On the undercard I won't venture a prediction because it's 2 African's I've never seen fight, but they're both talented and it should be a better fight than the main event.

In other mma news, Annabelle is making preparations for the next UFC.

She seems to want to meet the mysterious Tape Lord in person -
"Taplelord, not at all. I will introduce you to my black fireman?
We could meet at the bar, cuz white trash girls like me drink beer at fights.
You up for that?"
Meanwhile she is also talking serious smack to Demoness -
"Maybe she's afraid I will infect her with the herpes...lol
Fact is she doesnt have the balls to look me in the face"
"nobody fucking asked you to hang out for the night, I'd just like to see you call me white trash to my face."
Some catfight potential here.
A word of warning to Tape Lord. Pulling a train on Annbelle might seem like a fun way to spend some time in Vegas, but think of who the "caboose" will be -

UFC Induction Ceremony

Here is the transcript. Now, sit back and enjoy as we re-live this important moment in sports history.
=================
Bruce Buffer: Gentlemen, at this time, we are going to induct our first two UFC Hall of Fame members. Please welcome these two UFC warriors as they come to the Octagon! Presenting the awards will be the President of Zuffa, Dana White!

Entering the Octagon at this time… the legendary Royce Gracie!!!

And now coming into the Octagon… "The World's Most Dangerous Man" … Ken Shamrock!!!

Dana White: Tonight is a very special night for the UFC. Tonight we will be honoring two of the sport's greatest legends -- by inducting them into the UFC Hall of Fame.

He thrilled and stunned the world. How could a 185 pound-man defeat men much stronger and bigger? We will learn it was a family secret -- first unveiled at UFC #1. The Gracie family style of Brazilian jiu-jitsu is what catapulted Royce Gracie into legendary status. We honor and welcome an inaugural inductee to the UFC Hall of Fame. Ladies and Gentlemen: Royce Gracie!

Royce Gracie: I'd like to thank my brother Rorion for creating the show. If it wasn't for him, none of us would be here tonight. Of course, the fans -- for their support. Dana White from Zuffa -- who had the courage … A long time back in Brazil -- my father, my family… Thank you.

Dana White: Congratulations.

We first met "The World's Most Dangerous Man" in Denver, Colorado -- in McNichol's Arena in November of 1993. A multiple UFC champion and still a present-day champion in the minds and hearts of all. We honor and welcome our other inaugural member of the UFC Hall of Fame. Ladies and gentlemen, Ken Shamrock!!

Ken Shamrock: Well, first I'd like to start off by thanking some of the people who have made it possible for me and Royce Gracie to be standing here today. Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, the President, Dana White, the people in the office at UFC, and the people who set up the rings and cameras here at the UFC -- who have worked long and hard to keep this here -- for you fans and for us to be able to fight. And last, but not least, back in 1993 when I first entered the Octagon, it was booming. Back in UFC #4, we started to get shut down. We went underground because the politics wouldn't let us have it. Because it wasn't legal. But because of you fans it went underground and -- through the internet and websites -- you kept us alive! And I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. I'm standing in this ring and Royce Gracie's standing in this ring and UFC is still here, being able to put on shows… It's because of your persistence -- the loyal fans of UFC and I thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart!

Bruce Buffer: Let's have a big hand of applause for the first two inductees of the UFC Hall of Fame! For these two warriors of the Octagon! Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock!!!

Kirik on transsexuals

New England heavyweight "champion" Kirik Jenness (left) and post-op transsexual snowhazel (right)

MMA.tv president and occasional MMA fighter Kirik Jenness recently shared his enthusiasm for trannies at his forum in a thread about rumored she-male snowhazel.

Fightsport.com is reporting that Snowy had an IM conversation with a FS member in which she reveals that she is a pre-op transexual.
Is this true? If so, that's cool, I'll still be your friend on myspace.com and stuff, but the fantasizing stops TODAY. If not, the fantasizing will continue as planned. Thanks!

I speak for the majority of men here in saying that if that's so, I would happily be gay.

Tremendous, Kirik! We at LukeBeston.NET, however, feel that his position on this subject is "bad for the sport."

Professional Fighter Jason Turnage of Memphis: "I have sucked dick for money."

During a recent conversation on the messageboard at Fightsport.com, professional fighter Jason Turnage revealed that he has worked as a homosexual prostitute.

"For me it was easy money," said the fighter, in a shocking moment of honesty. "If you suck dick for money," Turnage continued, "does that mean you are gay.. NO it doesnt." Under further questioning, Turnage became defensive, stating that he had only done it "a couple of times."

Much is known of Turnage. He has fought on the lowest level of the MMA circuit and has spent an inordinately large amount of time unemployed over the last several years. Recently, he achieved a level of notoriety by leaving his native Tennessee in order to move in with a California woman who is married and has two children. Turnage attempted to make ends meet by working in a mall game store.

Diminutive Sean Sherk quits MMA?

Lilliputian fighter and wrestling enthusiast Sean Sherk, 31, recently brought every major news agency, world government and MMA promotion to a grinding halt after he threatened not to fight quite as often or - gasp - at all!

Sherk's threats were made in a poorly-constructed Sherdog.com feature article by hack columnist Josh Gross. Gross attempted to communicate Sherk's frustration and anguish by fitting as many punctuation dashes as possible into the piece, managing to insert more than twenty by one count. Sherk, meanwhile, was on a crusade to do more than just pretend to be a professional writer - like a host of no-good poor and/or lazy people before him, he was demanding respect in the form of a greatly increased wage!

Showing his dwarven heritage with his curmudgeonly, cantankerous attitude, Sherk complained about not fighting in the UFC despite boring performances and the fact that his manager's negotiating tactics irritated the organization. Sherk made it clear that he would no longer accept fights in "smaller shows" and would henceforth be demanding twenty thousand dollars or more to take other fighters down and throw punches from inside the guard. Moreover, Mr. Gross reportedly overheard the tiny athlete mumbling something about retiring to mine precious gems and hunt orcs while sharpening his battleaxe.

This devastating news brought about fast action from Sherdog.com posters, known as the most easily amused and least interesting MMA fans in the world, who immediately started a fiendishly creative grassroots campaign to try and get Sherk back in the UFC. Immediately playing their trump card, the Sherdog faithful did what any corporate entity or professional sports league fears more than anything else: they started an online petition.

Ignoring the fact that online petitions are roughly as effective as improving your sexual satisfaction by inserting your penis into various pieces of mechanical farming equipment, over one thousand (1000!) Sherdog members leapt into action and added their meaningless names and/or stupid internet aliases to a list which had been hilariously dubbed "Save Sean Sherk's Career".

No reaction to the self-important demands of the deluded Sherdog collective has been given by the UFC so far. In addition, nobody has seen fit to point out that even if everyone who signed the "Save Sean Sherk's Career" petition were to buy a UFC PPV event based exclusively on his participation, his $20,000+ asking price would still lead to a significant loss of revenue for Zuffa, LLC.

We here at LukeBeston.net would like to wish Sean Sherk the best of luck with his retirement, as well as remind him that allowing himself to be completely inserted into the orifices of his much larger, normal-sized human counterparts for the purpose of sexual stimulation could be a lucrative source of alternative income.

Fuck Dana White(LOL) and FUCK the Fertittas for attempting to destroy the very soul of this sport.

Take your cross dressing, nipple tweaking, crybaby faggot show back to the privacy of Lorenzos sauna and give the UFC to someone who will treat it with the respect it deserves.

KTFO Owner Calls Professional Fighter Jason Turnage a Coward

The new MMA clothing site on the block, www.KTFO.tv, has arrived with a bang!

They have drawn possibly the strongest negative response for a new company in the history of the sport. Their shirts, hats and other assorted merchandise has been unanimously laughed at.

The owner of the site, one Craig Fields, responded as a good sport initially. However, under the strain of increasing mockery, he quickly turned to challenging MMA.tv members to fights. Fields even challenged a professional fighter. Posted below is his invitation to forum member Chia, who is also known as Piggle, or Jason Turnage.

Review of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality TV show

By Ed Doty

I'm an editor for a lot of your (least) favorite reality shows, so I was just as curious to the production value and cutting style of the show as much as the content. I just got done watching the Ultimate Fighter show and here are my thoughts:

INTRO - It started bad in my mind with just six little words, "This season on the Ultimate Fighter...". Starting the show with the Supertease (that's what we call those long promo's that feature footage from the entire season) is a BAD idea. That sort of thing is not really up to the editor, but a Producer's decision, and in my opinion, a bad one. Superteases almost always go at the end of the show. For many, this is their first exposure to the UFC brand but also to the sport of MMA. I'm not going to get into a game of "Well I woulda done THIS.." but I do think something better should have gone for the pre credit sequence.

Additionally, the first scene was horribly executed. 16 random guys walking into a gym? Who are they? What are their names? Where do they come from? Why do they want to fight? Relying on soundbites on how they were all impressed with the gym to loosely convey this didn't work.

MUSIC - I fully get that this show is geared to the 18-34 male demographic. That being said, not everyone in the 18-34 male demographic ONLY listens to generic nu-metal. I'm not saying bring in the Enya and Portishead, but every song sounded the same. Also, the mix was off, and they let a "Shit" fly by. Hey if standards and practices doesn't care, I guess I shouldn't.

CASTING - Not bad. They've got a good heel in Leben, and they're obviously building towards a showdown with Diego. Jason Thacker was an interesting choice. Granted, its hard to give voice to 16 characters at once, but I would have liked more interviews from some of the other guys. Which leads me to...

INTERVIEWS - God damn, I hope they change the backplate for those interviews. After 20 minutes of seeing everyone interviewed against that cage background I wanted to scream. Change it up a little, guys.

COACHES - Way too much Dana. Way too much Willa Ford. Not enough Chuck and Randy, not enough of the other three coaches. Ganyo, Laimon, and the boxer guy need to talk about more than just how awesome it is to be there. I know, its only the first episode, but still, these things need to be hammered home early. Dana, nothing against you man, I'm not a hater, but you had WAAAYYYY too much screen time compared to everyone else.

TRAINING - Looks good, but I hope in future episodes the focus more intently on specific training issues. I sincerely hope that the Grappling doesn't get lost in the shuffle. It was past the half hour mark before anyone explained what a submission was. That's not good.

EDITING - Not bad, but there are some pacing issues and transitioning from training to house reality stuff still needs to be ironed out. Also, I'm getting REAL sick of the "normal speed-ramp up to 400%-back to normal speed" technique. It was cute in 2000, its getting old now. Also, and this may be nitpicking, but the opening Las Vegas exterior BRoll shot montage was a bit too long. I'd rather have seen one of the fighters arriving at the airport and here his thoughts in interview than 4 shots of the Strasphere and Hard Rock.

All in all, I think its a rocky start, but I have hope that the show can hit its stride. Many shows have a tough time nailing their first episode, so I won't hold it too much against it.

News on Rafiel Torre

We'll I was surfing the Internet I came upon a backdoor link to a Rafiel Torre Interview. It is dated 16 December 2004, about a month ago. I don't know if it old or not but here it is:

Interview with Abu Dhabi's Rafiel Torre

Birth of an industrySince the first UFC in 1993, there has been a new industry that has exploded in America. It services the needs and wants of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and wrestling students plus the fans of NHB and MMA events. People wanted to learn those special moves that Royce did in the early UFC's so Rorion Gracie developed his training videos. A bunch of other Brazilians saw the wisdom in this and the possible bulging of their bank accounts so they made videos themselves. Next came the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uniforms from Brazil. A couple of enterprising Americans thought, 'You know I could make uniforms to' They did and now there are several BJJ uniforms that are American born for BJJ. Training Matts was another great item that began being made here in the U.S. also.Of course what sport would be worth it's salt without fan merchandise? Next came the fan hats, shirts, stickers and more. ADCC reporter Rafiel Torre will be doing a column about some of these companies. The first one being 'Tapout' Tapout is the brainchild of Charles "Tapout" Lewis and was later joined by Dan "The Kid" Caldwell. These guys filled a niche in the U.S. market for competitor and fan wear. Some of their items are crude, rude and downright lewd. Just what the people want! Quality clothing and accessories with an attitude. Just like their founders. Charles is a riot to talk to and definitely one of the biggest fans of our sport. Great service, great merchandise and quality products. Sponsoring fighters is another great thing that Tapout is doing to help our sport. Tapout is a great company and if you want some clothes that will definitely get some attention these are the people to talk to. We spoke with Tapout CEO and founder Charles Lewis and this is what he told us about his company.

How did Tapout start?

The summer of 97 conceptually There was a Jiu- Jitsu competition in November. I first introduced my shirts at that competition... Dig this, John Lewis was the first one to ever buy a Tapout T-Shirt...When I remind him of that he just laughs at me and mutters something so fast I can't understand Then just smiles. ha ha He talks faster than me!!! Maybe its the last name?!...I think his school won that tourney by the way!!! Johns hard core. Good person to everyone, great for the sport!

How did you get involved in this?

I was training in a friends garage talking about Jui Jitsu and telling him his Rickson shirt was cool but if I could do it my way I'd create some hard core shit slamming messages "in peoples face. "I looked over at my 95 mustang with the license plates that read TAP OUT and said I'd call my stuff Tapout. Hence the web site name inyaface.com and the shirt company were formed then and there!!!

How did you get involved in Jiu-Jitsu?

Man I saw the first UFC and said Damn I gotta learn that...I'd been in traditional stuff since a young age and competed in tae kwon do tourneys all over...Hey Dog, my kicks were pretty.!! Rude awakening though first day walking in there with Royce. My partner now Dan hadn't seen the UFC but I hyped it so big he said he'd learn too.! Man Royce mounted me and said now, what will you do. All I could think was 'Man if this guy was in prison,,, oh shit I don't want to imagine'...hahahahah He was cool Royce! I ended up being one of his sparring partners for UFC 2. Something like o.k. you throw some kicks while I smother them, shoot, take you down and embarrass you. His dad yells something in portugese, he gets mad and takes it out on me...It was great. I look back and think, man I was a part of all that! Memories man! I've also trained 2 years with Allan Goes and 2 years with Pedro...I'm a purple belt---My partner is a 4 stripe blue5.

Where is Tapout based?

I live in Huntington beach my partner San Bernardino...That's were I was born, San Berdoo. Its cool like that though. Gotta represent home town you know...Thats the roots, might be Ghetto, but What doesn't break you, can dam sure help make you! Its all good coming up like that...I guess you can tell by the way we attack the business!.. Rules what rules, Shit they won't let us sell at a show? Its all good!!! We'll flyer every car, hand out stickers, throw out banners ... whatever it takes! Guerilla Warfare baby. hahaha Thats why I wear my special forces hat... Love us or hate us, but you ain't ignoring us! Here to affect and infect!!! Like my fighters in the Ring!!. I gotta represent!! To quit doesn't exist...You writing this or am I speaking my mind for nothing!!!???

Who does Tapout sponsor?

Some of the hardest working, training, fighting and technical in there own way of fighting, men I have the pleasure of knowing and calling friends. Each fighter brings an extension of Tapout to the table!!! I'm not concerned if they win all the time or not. Who does, this ain't fake, scripted or set in stone. I sponsor fighters you've probably never heard of like my boy Shad Smith straight out of prison from the home town.. Know one believing in him.Golden gloves champ as a kid then family problems and things went wrong. He gets out 6 months ago I said Shad you Love to fight so much, let me put you in with the Rough Necks(Gracie school in upland Ca.) Learn some ground and fight for Tapout. Since then he's knocked out one of Ted Williams students and a student from Chuck Liddels school. Sometimes people just need someone to believe in them.! We like to go to all the schools out here in California. Thats where I found Scott Adams...Chuck Liddel has fighters in all the shows Tapout sponsors out here. We asked Scott Adams to represent us at the next UFC and he said sure. Man awesome show of technique.

What is Tapouts goal? (future plans)

Tapout wants to help bring exposure to No rules Fighting. We're going to take care of our fighters best we can each step of the way. Also when your in a Tapout shirt people know it only represents one thing. A sport that is so hard core there trying to ban it...Excuse me didn't they try that with alcohol. Yeah thanks for helping, its only getting bigger.

Any new products or services Tapout is planning soon?

Come on now...I can't give my game plan away as much as I got Love for you Rafiel! hahahahah Stay tuned dog...We're gonna walk this path together. I promise you brother. Nothing but respect for you and the people over in Abu Dhabi!

How do people reach Tapout for sales?

We have a cool website inyaface.com also a toll free# 1-888-tapout4 We're constantly up dating our site. Revising our catalog, growing you know... I respect your work and I'm a fan of your writing. Say hi to the Prince for me!

Tom Lowe Caught By Tsunami?

Some are reporting that Tom "The Lion" Lowe was swept to his death by the December 26 tsunami. Bolstering this claim is the fact that he has not been heard from since before the 26th.

We withhold speculation on this calamitous event, but note that the absence of The Lion worries us all.

Tributes have commenced and banners that celebrate the life of Lowe have already appeared.

Jinx Accuses Texas Thai of Lying About Mother's Condition

MMA.tv moderator Texas Thai recently asked for cash donations to be made to him in order to care for his allegedly sick mother. Earlier today, he was back at it again, stating, "they said she has a sever sinus and allergy infection and her lymph nodes are swollen beyond control (they had already planned on taking them out anyways) but i guess there is some test they need to run but it costs $5g's." "$5g's" is common slang for five thousand dollars.

Previously, Texas Thai was able to get over $500 from MMA.tv members, who made their donations via paypal. This time, however, forum members like Jinx stood up to him and his pathetic panhandling.

"Dude, it's honestly your whole attitude that strikes me as funny," stated Jinx, "it seems strange and contrived." After hearing the sales pitch of Texas Thai (Jeff Hodge), Jinx continued, "about a dozen things that TT has said have set off "red flags" in my head and I never said anything. I let everybody donate. But the way this was headed I felt it was my duty to question some of the details."

Many observers have been put off by Jinx's behavior in the past, but this reporter feels obligated to point out that Jinx seemed to make some very cogent and reasonable statements on this occasion.

Annabelle vs demoness at Fightsport

Annabelle (pictured drunk on left) and demoness (pictured on right)

MMA's queen attention whore made a cameo appearance at Fightsport and wasted no time renewing her feud with demoness. The two traded barbs on everything from who's better looking to their taste in bras.

"At least my bras come from victoria's secret instead of walmart like those lacy old lady bras demoness wears. did you buy one get one free!?"--Annabelle

"I don't have to worry about buying one and getting one free... I am comfortable and am not a single mother with two children."--demoness

Those two bitches are "bad for the sport," so the staff of LukeBeston.NET cannot condone their actions.

Fightsport is back and better than ever!

After making a few security upgrades, the Free Speech Monster is back in full force. If you don't already, be sure to make it a habit to stop by Fightsport for the best MMA news in the business.

Rafiel Torre murder trial update

Rafiel Torre (left) with Shiloh McIver

In the past few weeks, we've received numerous inquiries on the status of Rafiel Torre's trial for the murder of Brian Richards. Most people assumed that the trial was over and Torre had been convicted. However, a source close to the trial has informed me that the trial has not even begun yet. The court dates we'd posted updates on over the summer were just preliminary hearings. There is no trial date as of this writing, but expect more updates on this site as information becomes available.
